Procedure to become a Member

The procedure that an entity should follow to become a Clearing Member of MEFFREPO is very easy, as illustrated. The following dossier must be completed by the entity:

Appendix 3 (A y B): Letter of delegation to MEFF  
Appendix 4: Questionnaire
Appendix 5: Contract between MEFF and Clearing Member  
                     The latest available annual report
                     Letter of the entity confirming its share capital
                     If rated, letter of the entity with the latest updated rating (long term)
Appendix 6: Letter with treasury account number opened in the Bank of Spain

Appendix 1. Application form to be a Clearing Member
This Appendix is used by the Entity to apply to MEFF to become a Clearing Member of the Clearing House.

Appendix 2. Clearing Member information
This Appendix contains general data of the Entity and data of the contact people from different departments should MEFF need to contact any of them at any time.
Appendix 3. Letter of delegation to MEFF
With this Appendix the Entity delegates to MEFF the application for the CNMV or Bank of Spain certificate, depending on the type of Entity:
  • Entities with no bank status will send MEFF Appendix 3A.
  • Entities with bank status will send MEFF Appendix 3B.

Appendix 4. Questionnaire
This Appendix contains general data, financial data and information on the Entity's resources

Appendix 5. Contract between MEFF and Clearing Member  
It is necessary to send any kind of legalised document stating that the persons signing can act on behalf of the entity for this purpose.
Appendix 6. Letter with treasury account number opened in the Bank of Spain:
This Appendix is divided in A or B:
  • Those entities that do not have a treasury account at the Bank of Spain must request the Entity that is holder of the treasury account to send Appendix 6A to MEFF, so that MEFF can proceed to make the debits and credits corresponding to the settlements.
  • When the entity applying to become Clearing Member of the Clearing House has a treasury account at the Bank of Spain, must send Appendix 6B to MEFF.
